COMMUNITY

Services

HGL is experienced in successfully managing various types of commercial, institutional and military construction projects.

Construction Management

HGL Construction's CM at Risk services allow the client to quickly take a project from conception to reality. One of the many advantages of this delivery method is the creation of a unified team with the construction manager and the designer working in concert to create the best value for the budget from the very beginning. HGL Construction is registered with the Oklahoma Department of Central Services as a Certified Construction Manager.

General Contracting

At HGL, we have honed our expertise in the traditional general contracting process for the past 25 years. We continue to successfully lead clients through the process, relying on our knowledge of the marketplace, mastery in estimating, detailed scheduling capabilities, and accurate bid package preparation.

Because of our reputation for working efficiently and economically while focusing on quality and safety, project after project, our customers who require ongoing work continue to call upon us. They know that with HGL as their general contractor, they can count on us to bring industry knowledge, trained professionals, specific experience related to their projects, an outstanding safety record, and realistic estimates based on familiarity with the project.

Design-Build

The hallmark of a Design-Build project is that only one organization is responsible to the owner for both the design and construction of the facility, which helps foster collaboration and focus on the project objectives. Since construction in the Design-Build project delivery method runs concurrently with the design process, your project can be completed more quickly than the traditional linear method or contracting offer. As drawings are developed, HGL serves as a single point of contact working with the designers to help define functional requirements, detail the budget, and streamline the schedule. Our ability to identify lead items, phase construction, and prepare bid packages that make sense has proven to save months on the schedule, reduce change orders, and save our clients millions in design and construction costs.

Planning and Estimating

As your single point of contact, we provide cohesive management from start to finish so you understand the precise timeline and the dollar impact of each decision. At every point along the way, you will know where we are on the schedule and see an up to date estimate of costs. Our pledge to you is that HGL will provide accurate, relevant information so you can make informed decisions at all stages of project development

HGL makes the complex process of building easier. With our comprehensive program and project management services, we serve as an extension of your staff and coordinate every aspect of your construction - including project planning, selecting designers, scheduling, cost estimating, code compliance and the day-to-day details involved in technical and management support.

Safety

Safety Procedures

Each assigned SSHO develops policies and implements all project specific safety programs and training. Planned safety activities for each project include administrative requirements, training, construction planning, and scheduled and unscheduled inspections. Administrative requirements include notifications, specific registration, permitting, certification, record keeping, and workplace postings. Documents maintained at each job site include Safety, Injury, Illness and APP; Code of Safe Practices; Federal/State OSHA required permits and certifications; Respiratory Protection Program; Fall Protection Plan, and project-specific AHAs.

Training

Awareness of potential health and safety hazards, as well as knowledge of how to control such hazards, is critical to maintaining a safe and healthful work environment while preventing injuries, illnesses and accidents. Training will be provided to individuals as follows:

  • Upon employment on the project

  • Whenever given a new job assignment for which training has not been previously provided

  • Whenever new substances, processes, procedures, or equipment that represent a new hazard are introduced into the workplace

  • Through regularly scheduled weekly and monthly safety meetings.

Safety Meetings & Health Inspections

Safety meetings are conducted monthly by our Project Manager and weekly by Superintendents and foremen to review past activities, plans for new or changed operations, reviewing AHAs, establishing safe working procedures for anticipated hazards, and providing training.

Include periodic scheduled and unscheduled inspections. We conduct formal safety inspections and audits twice yearly to include inspection for hazards related to office, shop, vehicles, equipment, and field work.

Our safety culture is fostered and maintained on each project through induction at the beginning of the project and each definable feature of work; weekly toolbox meetings on general safety awareness, site hazards and risks; and performance, reporting and compliance incentives.
